Summer Bodies Are Made In The Winter!
Has your motivation dropped recently because it’s too cold outside? For many of us, this is the case. But it’s time to stop yourself falling down that slippery slope of demotivation & accelerate forwards towards your goals!
The age-old saying is true - you aren’t going to wake up and have that dream figure overnight. Our bodies are incredible, but it takes time to get them into tip-top shape - healthy habits build healthy bodies!
Whether you are putting on the swimsuit, the strappy dress or the muscle T for the first time this Summer, don’t let your first thoughts be… “if only I’d worked out a little more”. Get into the mind of your future self & do the hard work NOW!
Disclaimer: ALL bodies are bikini bodies - but we want you to feel COtNFIDENT rocking that swimsuit this season!
In saying that… we’ve put together some hot tips that will help you stay motivated to exercise this Winter, so you can get ready for Summer!
1. Find the right time of day that works for you.
Life’s tough! Everyone is living such a busy life, but don’t let that be your excuse!
It’s time to find out what time of day exercising works for you! If you get the kids ready for school & your mornings are already chaos, then early morning classes aren’t going to suit. If you end up feeling tired and wanting to relax by the afternoon, then you’re probably better to exercise first thing, or during the day. Everyone is different!
We have Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates, Barre, Yoga and MOTR sessions that suit ALL timetables - early morning, mid-morning, midday, and evening classes.
We suggest trialing a few different classes at different times for a week or two in these colder months, to see what works for you (and what doesn’t). It’s important to find out what’s achievable for you, so you can actually show up and incorporate classes in your weekly routine.
HOT TIP: If you are an early riser, get your gym gear ready the night before so you don’t have to think about it in the morning. All you have to do is roll out of bed and into the studio… Easy!
2. Prioritise Exercise
Less thinking… more doing!
Some people say exercise shouldn’t feel like a chore, but in all honesty, until you’re in the habit of it, that's exactly what it feels like. Coming into the studio everyday might not be achievable, but being active daily should be a non-negotiable. Simple things, like taking the stairs instead of lifts or even parking your car further away at the supermarket and if you have a smart-watch or Fitbit - you’ll quickly see how beneficial these small changes can be!
Once you start prioritising your health, you will become more successful in all of your fitness goals - and the more you’ll push yourself to do more. To achieve your goals on the outside, it’s got to start from the inside. You’ve got to put yourself first!
So book into those classes ladies, and start prioritising exercise.
3. Try a new workout
There is no denying it…, it’s cold and wet and dark. This could be a factor in why you’re unmotivated. BUT, you could also be bored and need a bit of a shakeup!
It’s really important to enjoy the exercises you are doing - or you just won’t give it your all! If you feel like you have hit a bit of a lull lately – book into something new and give it a go for a week or two.
We have so many different classes at Reform Pilates Whitford for you to try, we promise you will never get bored.
We offer Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates, Barre Classes, and our newest class - MOTR - a hybrid of reformer and mat together!
4. Buy new workout gear
This one is self-explanatory!
What do you want to do when you buy new clothes? You want to wear them!
This trick WORKS, because who doesn’t love testing out your latest purchases ;). New workout gear will get you in the studio, we guarantee it! After all it is a new season, so it might be time for a new gym wardrobe… for real! So, go shopping and get yourself those dreamy new tights you’ve had your eye on for a while. You deserve it.
Or… treat yourself to some new grippy socks (we have a few in the studio for you to choose from - they’re pretty cute too!)
5. Be consistent
All these things aren’t going to line up & work if you aren’t consistent. Consistency really is key & exercise is no exception. If you put in the work, you will see the rewards and the only thing stopping you from being consistent, is yourself.
So find a time that suits, get into a weekly routine and stick at it!
It is so important to make physical movement part of your everyday life!
Don’t forget about your future self… putting on that swimsuit for the first time, feeling confident as ever & ready to take on Summer! She’s in there - you just might need to wake her up a little.
Our classes are designed so that all that you’ve got to do is show up. Our instructors are the best and are here to work alongside you to help you achieve your goals. We promise to accelerate your goals and get you in the best shape of your life!
